Now Playing: Finished weekly review
Topic: Book Reviews

Well, this week is a milestone.  We have been doing the reviews for one year and Loreen has gotten into the swing of things and is writing reviews.

We read a lot of books and they are really great.  Publishers have connected directly with us and so have the publicists.  We are not doing book reviews directly on this site as they are published on the ning site which is located at:  http://clarkisaacs.ning.com

We have built a circulation of 675,000 readers at this time and are growing.

If you know of a place that will print our reviews; please suggest it and we shall be pleased to send them copy on a weekly basis.

 Regards,

Clark & Loreen

Now writing for Kingman Daily Miner
Mood:  happy

Well, it is official.  I am now a columnist for the Kingman Daily Miner doing book reviews.  Have many books on order and many are here already.  Reading quite a bit and have sent in the first column which will run at the end of the week.

Hope that you all will turn out and read this and I will publish the column here after it has run at the paper.

As a start for reviewing books
Mood:  happy
Topic: Book Reviews

I have been talking with the local newspaper here in Kingman and we have come to an arrangement that might work out well for both of us.  In the past I had thought about writing a column for the paper but did not really know what I would do with it.

Recently I have been involved with Library Thing and decided that there was a good place to start.  Read a book recently which was very entertaining and then I decided since I enjoyed it so much and having to do a review of it in exchange for getting it, I would move along and do it for the paper.

Well, we agreed and I will be doing a monthly column to start and then step it up into the future for doing reviews on a weekly basis.

Wrote to a bookstore that is local and then discovered it was quite a chain across the United States.  Asked them, since they were advertising in the local paper, if they would like to have books reviewed in coordination with the column.  Awaiting a response from them as I do not know who the person is who would be interfacing with this budding reviewer.

Interesting and fun at the same time and might lead into something lucretive, who knows.

Have you ever wondered why?
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Made in America
Made in America

The other day I was putting on a shirt and for some reason looked at the tag inside the shirt. I had assumed that by this time in our society we had everything made in China. Well? It was not, Bangladesh is where my heavy winter shirt was made. I decided then to check out my blue jeans and see where they were made...Dominican Republic!

Where have the days gone when we had things made in America. Sure I understand as you, we have outsourced so many things to be made elsewhere and that when we call customer service we get someone in a foreign land that hardly can understand what we are asking. But, isn't it time that we asked for goods to be made here once again. Our politicians are seeking funds from us to continue their campaigns for election, but have any of them ever said we would like to return to the good old days and make things here? I have not heard anyone say a thing about that. They all talk about immigration and that we need to allow those who are here illegally to stay or find a way to stay. That would be fair for those who have been here for many years, but what about those who arrived yesterday?

We have folks in many states who do not have work, we have factories that are closed, and what we need is a product that can be made in those factories which would be able to put people back to work. Since the value of the dollar is so low in Europe and Canada, wouldn't it make sense to make things here and be in competition with China? You buy furniture today and it is made in China, Viet Nam or Korea and the price? Well, my friends, it is not that low. It is about the same as it always has been. Some products are cheaper, but not all. We can and should be competitive with the rest of the world with MADE IN AMERICA!

Now Playing: Enjoy the Day
Topic: C & L Welcome You

This is our first attempt at a Blog and all of our friends and family will be invited to join this blog so that we can share moments of life which are important to all of us.

We always like to have you come and visit and stay awhile out at the ranch.  We know that travel plans are such that we all have to be flexible in our attempts to be with each other.  Please know that our door is always open and that the coffee is always on!

Regards to all,

 Clark & Loreen
